The eyes, the saying goes, are the windows of the soul. It’s the first thing you notice about a person. Therefore, many people want to possess beautiful eyelids. Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) removes fat and/or excess skin from the upper and lower eyelids. The surgery does not elevate or change irregularities in the eyebrow.
If the patient has droopy upper eyelids (eyelid ptosis), ptosis repair can be performed at the same time as a blepharoplasty.
Dr. Hamilton-Hall will either make an incision on the lower lid just below the lashes (a transcutaneous technique) or inside the eyelid (a transconjunctival approach) depending on your individual needs. After the incision is made, Dr. Hamilton-Hall will remove or redistribute any excess fat, muscle and skin, before closing the incision.
Asian Blepharoplasty
Surgical formation of a palpebral fold and sulcus divides the lid into two well-defined segments (palpebral and pretarsal), producing the double eyelid desired by many Asian women as well as an increasing number of men. Upper lid blepharoplasty of the Asian eye is a variation of a standard upper lid blepharoplasty. In Asian double eyelid surgery, there have been two approaches to form a superior palpebral fold: the buried suture (non incision) method and the full external incision method.
