Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Ear surgery (otoplasty) is commonly used to bring prominent ears closer to the head, as well as to alter the shape or size of large ears. On the back of the ears, incisions are frequently performed.
When incisions on the front of the ear are required, the surgeon makes them within the folds of the ear to conceal them better. Dr. Hamilton-Hall may remove extra skin or cartilage after making the incisions. She will sculpt or fold the cartilage into place and secure it with non-removable internal stitches. The incisions will be closed with additional stitches.
Ear Lobe Repair
Earlobes often elongate or tear with aging, wearing heavy earrings, and/or other sources of trauma. Repair of torn earlobes or rejuvenating torn earlobes is a painless, quick surgery using merely local anesthesia and has no post-operative pain or “downtime.”
